Money flow historical report
One row per session of a symbol's approximate premium traded and call/put volume over a date range, in date order.
Overview
The Money flow (historical) report shows one row per session for a symbol between a start and an end date: total traded amount, option volume and the call/put split. Use it to see whether today's activity is unusual for that symbol. The same data is charted in Money flow chart.
The data delay depends on your plan and is shown on every view: the as-of time and the delayed label sit above the results. On the Free plan reports show the previous session.
How the report is built
- Opens on the current money-flow leader's history.
- Rows are in session-date order. Your plan limits how far back the range can go.
Before you start
Any signed-in plan can open the report from Research → Reports. Your plan decides how fresh the data is and how much history you can read. CSV export needs a plan that includes it.
Steps
- Open Research → Reports, choose Money Flow and open Money flow (historical).
- Pick a symbol (required) and, optionally, a Start date and End date.
- Press Run. Use Export CSV to download the rows (plans with CSV export).
Report inputs
| Input | What it does |
|---|---|
| Symbol | Required. |
| Start date / End date | Optional; the start must be on or before the end. |
Columns and metrics
| Column | What it means |
|---|---|
| # | Row number. |
| Symbol | The underlying. |
| Total Traded Amount (Approx.) | Approximate premium traded across the chain that session, USD. |
| Total Option Volume | Contracts traded that session. |
| Total Call Volume / Total Put Volume | The call and put split with each share. |
| Stock Price | The underlying price. |
| Date | The session. |
Percentages are stored as fractions and displayed as percentages (0.05 is shown as 5 %). An unknown value shows as "-", never as 0.
How to read it
- Compare today's traded amount with the typical level over the range.
- Look for sessions where the call/put split changed sharply.
Example
Illustrative only - the symbol and numbers are invented.
XYZ over 5 sessions: traded amounts of $2.0M, $2.2M, $1.9M, $2.1M and $6.5M. The last session is about three times the usual level.
Using it in your research
- Put a single-day spike into context before drawing conclusions.
- Check whether rising money flow coincided with stock moves.
Treat every row as a starting point for your own research, not as a signal. Volume and open interest never say whether a trade was a buy or a sell.
Troubleshooting
"Start Date should be less than or equal to End Date"
Swap the dates.
"Please select Symbol"
This report needs one symbol.
The report shows "No Records Found"
The filters may be too narrow for the session, or the session has only just opened. Widen a threshold, clear the symbol, or check the as-of time to see which session you are reading. On the Free plan you read the previous session.
