Overview

The command palette is one search box for the whole app. Type a ticker, the name of a saved screen or watchlist, a page, or a help topic, and press Enter to go there. It only lists what you can already open: pages your role or plan does not include are hidden, and pages that need a higher plan show a lock and lead to the pricing page.

Steps

Open the palette

  • Press Ctrl+K (Windows, Linux) or Cmd+K (Mac) on any signed-in page. It works even while you are typing in a filter box.
  • Or press / when no text box has focus.
  • Or click Search in the header (the magnifier icon on a phone).

Find something

  1. Start typing. Every word you type must match, so research watch finds Research → Watchlists.
  2. Results are grouped, in this order: Contract, Symbols, Actions, Saved screens, Watchlists, Recent, Pages and Help. Each group shows five rows; choose Show all to see the rest.
  3. Use Arrow up and Arrow down to move across groups, Home and End to jump, and Enter to open. Enter without moving opens the first match.
  4. Ctrl+Enter (or Cmd+Enter), or Ctrl/Cmd-click, opens the result in a new tab.
  5. Escape closes the palette and puts the focus back where it was. Tab moves between the search box and the results.
  • Symbols: type a ticker such as XYZ or part of a company name. Choosing a symbol opens it in the options screener. The last price shown next to a symbol is delayed.
  • Option contracts: paste an OCC contract symbol such as XYZ 271217C00050000 and the palette offers to open that symbol at that expiry.
  • Saved screens and watchlists: your own, by name.
  • Recent: the symbols, screens, watchlists and reports you opened lately.
  • Pages: every page in the sidebar you can open.
  • Help: matching help articles.

Actions

The Actions group runs common tasks: Run a saved screen, New options screen, New alert, Add symbols to a watchlist, Toggle theme, Open help for this page and Contact support.

Ask the AI copilot

When the AI copilot is part of your plan and switched on, the last row is always Ask the copilot followed by what you typed. Choosing it opens the copilot and sends your question, together with the page you are on (for example the symbol and expiry in the screener). On a page about a symbol you also get Ask the copilot to set an alert on XYZ: the copilot proposes the alert and waits for you to choose Yes, do it before anything is created.

Example

You are on the dashboard and want the November chain of a sample symbol. Press Ctrl+K, type xyz, and press Enter: the options screener opens for XYZ. To check a single contract instead, paste XYZ 271217C00050000 and choose the Contract row.

FAQs

Does searching send my query anywhere?

Symbol search asks OptionsScreenerPro's own symbol list (not a market-data vendor), and help search asks the Help Center. Your screens, watchlists and pages are filtered in your browser.

Why is there no "Ask the copilot" row?

The copilot is not part of your plan, or an administrator has switched it off. Everything else in the palette keeps working.

Troubleshooting

Ctrl+K opens the browser's search instead

Click once anywhere on the page first so the app has focus, then press Ctrl+K again. You can always click Search in the header.

A page I expect is missing

The palette lists exactly what the sidebar lists for your role. If a page needs a higher plan it shows a lock; if your role does not include it, it is not listed. Ask an administrator if you need access.
