Keyboard, accessibility and display options
Move around with the keyboard, read up and down without relying on colour, use the colour-blind palette, reduce motion, and pin your most used pages.
Overview
OptionsScreenerPro works with a keyboard and a screen reader, never shows up or down by colour alone, and lets you choose a colour-blind safe palette, a dark theme and a compact table layout. Your choices are saved to your account, so every device you sign in on looks the same.
Steps
Use the keyboard
- Press Tab on any page: the first stop is Skip to content, which jumps past the navigation.
- In tables, Tab reaches each row that opens something; Enter opens it, and Ctrl+Enter (or Cmd+Enter) opens it in a new tab.
- Row menus (⋮) open with Enter or Arrow down; use the arrow keys, Home and End inside, and Escape to close and return to the button.
- Dialogs keep focus inside until you close them with Escape, and return focus to the button that opened them.
Change how the app looks
- Open Account → Account, then the Preferences tab.
- Choose Theme (light, dark or follow your device), Display time zone and Table density.
- Turn on Colour-blind safe colours to show up and down moves in blue and orange.
Pin pages to the navigation
Use Pin to sidebar in a watchlist's row menu (or the pin button on a page). Pinned items appear at the top of the navigation; manage the order on the Preferences tab (at most 12).
Example
With Colour-blind safe colours on, a move of +1.25 on XYZ shows as a blue ▲ +1.25 and a move of -0.80 as an orange ▼ -0.80. Screen readers also hear "up" or "down".
FAQs
Do prices announce themselves as they change?
No. Live updates are not read out (that would be constant noise). Refreshing on request announces once.
Can I turn off animations?
Yes: set "reduce motion" in your device's accessibility settings. Page transitions, pulses and price flashes switch off.
On a phone, how do I read the column explanations?
Tap a column header or an ⓘ icon: its explanation appears in a small bubble. Tap anywhere else to close it.
Troubleshooting
My theme changes back on another device
The account setting wins once the page loads. Change it on the Preferences tab instead of the header button on a device where you are signed out.
