Push notifications on your phone or computer
Turn on browser push so alerts reach you when OptionsScreenerPro is not open, install the app on iPhone or iPad, send a test, and remove old devices.
Overview
Push notifications show your alerts as system notifications, even when the app is closed. They are free and work in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Each browser or device is turned on separately.
Before you start
- On iPhone or iPad (iOS 16.4 or later), first add OptionsScreenerPro to your Home Screen: tap Share, then Add to Home Screen, and open the app from the new icon. Apple only allows web push for installed apps.
- If the card says push is not available yet, the platform has not switched push on; your alerts still arrive by e-mail and in the bell.
Steps
- Open your account settings at
/accountand find Push notifications on this device. - Turn the switch on. Your browser asks for permission; choose Allow.
- Click Send a test. A test notification should appear within a few seconds.
- To stop push on this device, turn the switch off. To remove another device, use the bin icon next to it in Devices receiving push.
FAQs
What does a push notification contain?
The alert title and a short line, such as "XYZ 50C 12/17 · IV rank 92". Clicking it opens the matching page in OptionsScreenerPro. No other account data is sent.
Why did I not get an alert that fired an hour ago?
Market alerts expire after 10 minutes in the push service, because a late alert on delayed data is more misleading than useful. Several alerts for the same contract collapse into one notification.
Is my browser tracked?
The app stores the browser's push address so it can deliver to it, plus a label such as "Chrome on Windows". You can remove it at any time.
Troubleshooting
"Notifications are blocked for this site"
You chose Block earlier. Allow notifications for this site in your browser's site settings, reload the page and turn the switch on again.
The switch turns on but no test arrives
Check that your operating system allows notifications from the browser (Focus or Do Not Disturb can hide them). If you signed in with another account in this browser before, turn the switch off and on again.
