The notification bell and notifications page
Where in-app notifications appear, what the unread badge means, how to mark them read or delete them, and how the Open link takes you to the exact symbol or screen.
Overview
The bell in the header collects in-app notifications: alerts that fired, replies to your support requests and account messages. The red badge shows how many you have not read yet (up to "99+"). The full list lives on the Notifications page at /notifications.
Steps
- Click the bell in the header. The panel shows your latest 8 notifications, grouped by symbol.
- Click a notification to open it. It is marked read and you go straight to the page it refers to, for example the options chain for
XYZwith the matching contract. - Click Mark all read to clear the badge.
- Click See all notifications for the full list. Use the tabs (All, Alerts, Digests, Support, Billing, System) and the Unread only switch to filter it.
- In the list, the ⋮ menu on each row offers Open, Mark read or Mark unread, and Delete. Load older shows the next 50.
Example
Your alert Sample IV watch on XYZ fires after the 10:30 ET snapshot. The badge shows 1, the panel shows "XYZ 50C 12/17 · IV rank 92 (was 78)", and clicking it opens /screener/options?symbol=XYZ with the contract highlighted.
FAQs
Does the badge update in other tabs?
Yes. Marking something read in one tab updates the badge in your other open tabs. The count also refreshes when you come back to the tab and every minute while it is visible.
How long are notifications kept?
180 days by default. Older notifications are removed automatically.
Do notifications replace e-mail?
No. The bell is one channel. Each alert chooses its channel, and you can also turn on push notifications or Telegram.
Troubleshooting
The badge shows nothing but I expected an alert
Alerts are evaluated after each delayed data snapshot, not continuously; check the alert's last trigger time on /alerts. If the bell is missing entirely, notifications are not switched on for the platform yet.
"Notifications could not be loaded"
A network or server hiccup. Wait a moment and open the bell again; nothing is lost.
