Watchlists
Keep symbols close at hand, scan only your watchlist in the screeners, and see dashboard leaders among the names you follow.
Overview
A watchlist is a named list of symbols. Use it to scope screeners and to see leaders for only the names you follow.
Before you start
The number of watchlists and the number of symbols per list depend on your plan; see Account and billing.
Steps
- Open Research → Watchlists and choose New watchlist.
- Give it a name and paste symbols separated by spaces, commas or new lines. Symbols are upper-cased and de-duplicated.
- Save. The list is private to your account. Open it to see and edit its symbols.
You can also add a symbol from any screener or report row with the Add to watchlist action, or add many at once with Import symbols… (see Importing symbols into a watchlist).
Using a watchlist
- In the Options or Stock screener, pick the watchlist in the symbol selector to scan only its members.
- On the Dashboard, switch the leader tables to a watchlist to see leaders among your symbols only.
Example
A list called Sample megacaps with AAPL MSFT NVDA, picked in Screeners → Options with volume at least 5,000, shows only the most active contracts on those three names.
Managing
Click a row to open the watchlist (Ctrl-click opens it in a new tab). The row menu (⋮) holds Rename, Import symbols…, Share…, Pin to sidebar and Delete….
- Delete… first shows what depends on the list: saved screens that use it as their universe stop working, active share links are revoked, and alerts on its symbols keep working. Type the list's name to confirm. Deleting a watchlist does not delete saved screens that referenced it; they fall back to "all symbols" and show a warning until you edit them.
- Share… creates a private, expiring link to the list of symbols (not your notes). See Exports and sharing.
- Export at the top of the page downloads your watchlists as CSV or Excel, on plans that include downloads.
Troubleshooting
A symbol shows "not covered"
Symbols outside the ingestion universe stay in the list but are flagged not covered and return no rows.
I cannot add more symbols
You have reached your plan's per-list limit. Split the symbols across lists or see Account and billing.
